Marjolein Houben is a visual practitioner with a background in design. In 2010 she completed her MA Photography and Urban Cultures at Goldsmiths University of London. Most of her work focuses around photography – or a visual sociology.

Recent work centers on the idea of the unfixed identity of place, in which she re-thinks and unfolds questions about the ambiguous relationship between space and personal identity, as well as space and group identity, in both a local and global context.
